Shannon W. Helzer

Reviews

It was well-written and I wanted to keep reading to discover the underlying deception hinted at throughout the story. A bonus for me is that I am familiar with many of the places mentioned in the book so it was a bit of a look at local history. But even without that connection, it is a very good book.

WOW, this book hooks you in from the first chapter to the last. The author does a great job developing the main characters and their budding relationships then he takes you on an emotional roller-coaster ride of terror and suspense in the remote wilderness of Maine. I loved all the twists and turns and attention to details. Well researched and a MUST read.

Maggie's journal entries really did it for me. Once Rhue started to read Maggie's journal entries, I could not put the book down! I am dying to tell you about the twist at the end; however, I do not want to deprive you of the pleasure of discovering it for yourself! No spoilers here!!!!

I was transported back to an easier time in history while reading Rhue's House. Shannon W. Helzer's storytelling prowess, enhanced by photographs from another era, is truly remarkable. The way he weaves together historical artifacts and imagination creates an enchanting romantic experience that will linger long after the final page. And the twist! You must not miss the twist!

You are too Young captured my heart from the very beginning by giving me a brief look back to a time when I was too young. Shannon W. Helzer's ability to capture a moment in his sons’ lives while making it educational and fun for other children is awe-inspiring. This book for young readers is a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and fatherhood.

In 7 Days to Eternity, Shannon W. Helzer masterfully tackles complex psychological themes as this story of life and death unwinds leaving me to wonder what I would do in such a race against death. Would I be willing to place myself before another to stay alive, or would I graciously accept my own end? The fast-paced plot and interaction between the characters left me with the sense that I had just experienced a thought-provoking gem in the world of contemporary literature.

Shannon W. Helzer's latest creation, 50¢, is a testament to his evolving talent. The intricate layers of the book’s plot, which centered on the changes that take place in people as a result of unrestrained greed, kept me engaged from start to finish. Once again, his commitment to portraying society in a multiethnic fashion lends credibility to his writing while seemingly working to draw us all closer. Helzer's ability to blend the best and the worst of human nature with captivating storytelling is a rare gift that continues to shine brightly.
